Cal Patterson, give your head a shake!

Cal Patterson, the Mayor of Wasaga Beach, and the Warden of Simcoe County has endorsed Conservative candidate Dr. Kellie Leitch to replace Helena Guergis as the pole bearer for the Conservative party should Dr. Leitch win the nomination.

While endorsements are common place in North Amercian politics, but to have an elected official like Cal Patterson using his title as Mayor and Warden is taking endorsements to a new level. By having Patterson using his titles he's saying to fellow Conservatives, and to the residents of both Wasaga Beach, and Simcoe County that as your leader, and on behalf of the residents of Simcoe County we support your bid in seeking the Conservative party nomination. Well Cal, I don't support the Conservatives, I dont support Dr. Leitch, and I don't support your actions with your endorsement. If Cal Patterson as a citizen sent out a letter to Conservative members with his support that's 100% fine. But for him to use his titles is not in good taste at all.

As Mayor does that mean all of council support his endorsement? As Warden does that mean that all of the members of County council support his endorsement? I don't think so, and if I were them I would be pissed, and they have every right to be pissed.

So next time you put pen to paper Cal, you might want to give your head a big shake.
