I've never met a petition I never liked. Not!

Our MPP, Jim Wilson now has a new title, and it's Petition King at Queens Park. At this time he has a petition for the following:

1.) Restore Lab Services in Tottenham, Stayner and Elmvale.

2.) Petition in support of MS Therapy.

3.) Invest in Ontario students first.

4.) Petition to stop rural school closures in Clearview Twp.

Now I would be the first to admit that I did sign his Petition to restore lab services in Stayner and Elmvale. However what caught my eye is his new Petition to stop rural school closures in Clearview Twp. Mr. Wilson's target is Duntroon Central Public School. This school has under 200 students and it's located in an area that's not on any developers map to build new housing that would support the need to keep small schools like Duntroon open. I think Mr. Wilson's support for this school is tied into the lab service in Stayner, as Clearview Township is central to any re-election for Mr. Wilson in this year's election. To me it's politics, plain and simple. I've yet to see Mr. Wilson go to bat with a petition to have a high school built in Wasaga Beach.

I'm seeing a pattern here with all of Mr. Wilson's petitions over the years, and they all seem to focus on areas that are key to his re-election. Lab service in Tottenham in the south end of the riding, Stayner which covers Clearview and Elmvale which covers Springwater Township. He also strongly supports saving Elmvale's High School and had a petition on his website last year in support.

Mr. Wilson in his bid to get lab services restored in Elmvale and Stayner brings up a good point, and that point is why do people have to travel to Wasaga Beach from Stayner, and why do people in Elmvale have to travel to either Wasaga or Barrie. The same point can be said is why do 800 kids need to be bussed to schools in Collingwood, Stayner, and Elmvale, when a high school can be built in Wasaga Beach. Where's your support for a high school in Wasaga Beach Mr. Wilson? Where's your petition for a high school in Wasaga Beach Mr. Wilson?.

Last time I checked Wasaga Beach was part of Simcoe-Grey, and maybe someone should start a petition to have Mr. Wilson start a petition to have a high school built in Wasaga Beach, but I don't think that will happen as Mr. Wilson receives more votes outside of Wasaga Beach, then he does inside of his home town of Wasaga Beach.

Until next time!
