MPP claims he's broke at months end.

Warren Kinsella recently wrote on his blog that Simcoe-Grey MPP, Jim Wilson claims that he's broke at the end of each month due to raising taxes and other costs. Mr. Kinsella got his information from the Enterprise Bulletin article, here's the link to the article. http://www.theenterprisebulletin.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2969010

Let's just review what the income is for your average MPP in Ontario.

In 2009 Mr. Wilson made $ 129, 254.04 as an MPP. http://www.fin.gov.on.ca/en/publications/salarydisclosure/2010/legassembly10.html

As Mr. Wilson lives 50 km away from Queens Park he also receives a tax free housing allowance of about $ 24,000 a year. He also has an expense account, plus when he's in the riding he can claim a mileage allowance. Let's not forget that he also has 2 offices in the riding with staff, plus a fully staffed office at Queens Park.

The PC's claim that if elected they will look out for taxpayers money, yet Mr. Wilson claims he's broke at the end of the month. I'm sure most people in our riding who work in low paying jobs, or both parents are out working to support a family would love to have the salary that Mr. Wilson has, and all of the perks that go along with it.

Let's also not forget that each MPP back in the Harris days when he got rid of the MPP pensions received a ton of money. I'm sure this money was just transfered into their private RRSP accounts but that alone for Mr. Wilson was most likely a few bucks.

So Mr. Wilson if you can't get by on what you are making, then I suggest you fire your current financial planner before you don't have any money left.

Until next time!
