As we are in the middle of week two the battle for our riding is starting to heat up a bit. In the area of candidate signs it seems that what was a slow start for Liberal candidate Alex Smardenka has now turned into a battle between him and Icon (independant conservative candidate) Helena Guergis. In my travels everywhere a Guergis sign appeared, a Smardenka sign was nearby.
So here's my current sign standing in the north end of the riding:
1.) Guergis
1.) Smardenka
2.) Austin
3.) Leitch
The Green and CHP candidates have yet to place any signs up.
Now over to the NeoCon - Dr. Kellie Leitch. On my way into the city, I heard her campaign commercial on 93.1FM. Boy she took a pot shot at Guergis saying she's the true Conservative candidate in Simcoe Grey.
Based on what I've heard and from what I've seen since the start of this election, if I was Leitch I would be worried about Guergis more than Smardenka. Just because Leitch beat out her competition to be the candidate by 3 to 1 does not mean that she will win the riding.
Until next time!
