VS
Helena Guergis who was not only removed from her position as a junior Minister, but also kicked out of the party held a Press Conference at her Collingwood campaign office to finally address the issues surrounding her removal from the Conservative party.
The RCMP released a letter stating the reasons why they were asked to investigate Guergis, and the RCMP found that Guergis did nothing wrong. For over a year Guergis has been asking the PM to give her the reasons why he removed her from the party. Harper has refused to even meet with Guergis to explain the reasons why he removed her. To me that's not a sign of leadership, but a sign of a lack of leadership. If you are an employee of a company and the company fired you for no reason, or failed to explain the reasons why you were terminated you have legal options at your disposal. I truly hope that Guergis does take legal action against the Harper Conservatives.
Let's focus on Harper for a second. Harper had in his inner circle a 5 time convicted felon as his senior advisor, he had a Minister leave secret NATO documents laying around so his biker girl friend who had ties to the Hell Angles could see them, He had a Minister, Bev Oda who forged documents, and then lied to Parliament about it. Harper has 2 sitting Senators up on Election Fraud charges, yet in all of these cases nobody was kicked out of the party.
Guergis is not the best MP, and yes she's made her fair share of mistakes, but the actions of what Harper did, and continues to do to her is not how anybody who's devoted themselves to serving the public should be treated.
While it's quite clear that Harper does not like Guergis, and I think it's a result of her husband losing his riding to the NDP, she deserves to be treated better.
Now as most of you who read my blog postings know I'm not a fan of the Conservatives, but having said that if I was a Conservative supporter I would be angry as hell and send a strong message to Harper by voting for Guergis on May 2nd.
A Conservative vote for Dr. Leitch is a vote in my mind that you as a voter endorse the actions of Harper in regards to the handling of the whole Guergis issue. It's also an endorsement that you as a Conservative voter support a party and a leader who was found in contempt of Parliament, a leader who hires a convicted felon as his advisor, a leader who allows his Ministers to forge documents and leave secret documents laying around for anybody to see and copy. A leader who has 2 sitting Senators up on Election fraud charges, but still allows them to remain in the party and sit as Senators.
So my Conservative friends go ahead and vote for a corrupt political party, or send a message to Chairman Harper and vote for Guergis, but I know that die hard Conservatives in Simcoe Grey will vote for Leitch because they don't care about law and order, they just care about doing what they are told to do.
Until next time!
