MPP wants your Opinion - Really!

Simcoe Grey MPP, Jim Wilson is mailing out 52,000 forms which has 50 questions on them to households across our riding. Mr. Wilson claims that it takes about 15 minutes to answer the questions which range from Health Care issues to Taxation.

The PC party, according to Mr. Wilson feels that 75% of the people in Ontario want change, and the PC party wants to hear from us on the type of change we want.

Ok, let's see, I as a voter want to see lower taxes, I as a voter want to see government waste controlled, I as a voter want to see a better health care and education system, and I as a voter don't believe that your party can offer the change I want. So why don't I think the PC party can offer the change I want?. Well they had the chance to bring about major changes when they were in power from 1995-2003 and what did we get for all the change that they promised us? We got the following:

A decline in our Health Care system - Doctors and nurses were either being fired or leaving for the United States. Hospitals were being closed and wait times were at their highest levels in over a decade.

A decline in our Education system - Teacher strikes, schools closing, large class sizes, high drop out rates.

An increase in our Energy costs - The PC government opened up our energy sector to competition which resulted in higher energy costs which we are still feeling today.

Downloading - The PC government downloaded services to our towns and cities because the Federal government did it to them, and yes it was a Liberal Federal government that did it to get their books in order from the failed polices of the previous Conservative Federal Government. The downloading took place during one of the largest economic growth periods in North America (The Clinton years).

The PC's did lower taxes, I will give them credit for that, but it was mainly corporate taxes that were lower. So Mr. Wilson and the PC party, I want to see what I've listed above, and I just don't think your party can do that, as you had the chance and blew it. Do I think the Liberals are any better? Hell no, they are just as bad as the PC's and the NDP before them.

2011 is an election year on the Provincial and most likely the Federal side as well, and I want to see real change. I want to see fresh ideas from any of the 4 major political parties, and yes the government will change in October, and I hope people will take a hard look at all the political parties and don't vote for the same because your mommy and daddy have always voted for the same, vote on who you feel can really bring about change, and if this sounds like I want people to vote for the Green Party, your dam right I do, and trust me when I say that by electing the Leader of the Ontario Green Party in our riding of Simcoe-Grey would be the best thing to happen to this riding since Confederation.

Until next time!
